Peighton has been looking forward to Grandpa Earl's arrival all day! She has "Grandpa" mastered. She calls my dad "Grandpa Oil"! As soon as he came in the house, she was attached to him like a bee to honey! Over the last few weeks she has been "adopting" grandpa types where ever she goes. We were at the library a few weeks ago and there was a grandpa in the childrens area with his grandson. I turned to go look at books, assuming Peighton was behind me, I turned around and started to talk to no one. I looked around and there she was, looking at a book with the grandpa. He must have looked at 5 books with her. We went to story time and then after story time we were going to check out our books. She immediately went back to the grandpa to look at more books!
At Paxton's football game last week, Peighton found another grandpa type she wanted to hang with! Thank goodness Grandpa Earl is finally here! She will be his shadow all week! He has such patience, compassion, and love for his grandkids! It will be a memorable week for sure!
The bond between grandparents and grandchildren is so special...a true blessing from God!
